The Jr. Club is a great addition to the Timpanogos Gem and Mineral Society we did have a great time at the 2011 Spring Parade of Gems. All of the youth that participated either had a good time learning about how to fill and launch the Volcano, and/or learned more about how to sift for topaz. All of which had to do with Igneous formations and volcanic activities. Some of the folks that were sifting for topaz found more than they bargined for. We had a Mother and a Son find a Red beryl Crystal, besides a few good Topaz. The biggest find of the show was found by a young lady on sunday morning the crystal was .75" tall and and about .50" across.
Gee with all this fun I wish we could get the show to be 4 days long instead of just 3 days. What is the chances of this??
