Meetings and Activities


​The Timpanogos Gem & Mineral Society meets throughout the year, offering educational programs, hands-on activities, and opportunities to connect with fellow enthusiasts. Guests are always welcome!

Regular Meetings
  • Months: January, February, March, April, May, September, and October
  • When: Last Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM
  • Where: Springville Senior Center, 65 E 200 South, Springville, Utah​
Programs include how-to sessions, guest speakers, exhibits, slide shows, and demonstrations. Each month also features a silent auction with rocks and minerals provided by the club and its members.

Summer Meetings
  • Months: June, July, August
  • When: Work meetings at 4:30 PM (preparing for the annual rock show), followed by a potluck dinner at 6:30 PM
  • Location: Kelly's Grove Park, Hobble Creek Canyon, Springville, Utah

November & December
  • November: Election meeting and annual auction. Date and time TBA.
  • December: Club Christmas Dinner. Date and time TBA.
  • Where: Springville Senior Center, 65 E 200 South, Springville, Utah

Junior Club
The Junior Club is open to youth ages 5-16 with an accompanying parent.
  • When: Second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM
  • Where: Reagan Academy, 1143 W. Center St., Springville, Utah
Meetings feature fun, educational activities, and participants often take home a rock or other souvenir from the night’s lesson.

Field Trips
From spring through early fall, the club typically organizes 2-3 field trips each month. These trips take members to productive collecting sites, where experienced guides point out locations and teach what to look for. Details are shared in our monthly bulletin.

Club Lapidary Fun Days
The club also hosts 2 "Fun Days" each year, giving members hands-on experience with lapidary equipment such as rock saws and genie polishers. During these events, members learn how to cut and polish stones to create cabochons and slabs. It’s a great way to explore the lapidary arts and try the equipment before investing in your own.

Families find rockhounding to be a rewarding way to spend time together while exploring the fascinating world of minerals.
